Take a break during the virtual meeting and get up and moving with a brief exercise demonstration. Learn ways to simultaneously strengthen the body and heart which can help a patient recover more quickly from a cardiac event and help prevent future events.

The session will explore the effect of diet and exercise on heart health, as well as the mind-body connection and how to recognize signs of depression and know when to talk with a health professional. A common screening tool will be shared with participants to help monitor mental health.

Dr. Richard Collins, the ‘cooking cardiologist,’ will demonstrate that heart healthy food is not boring and bland. He will share recipes and cooking techniques with attendees, including quick and easy Guiltless Potato Chips, Maple Spiced Salmon, and Chocolate Blueberry Almond Clusters.
