James Januzzi MD

James L. Januzzi, Jr., MD is the Hutter Family Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, and is on faculty at the Harvard Clinical Research Institute in Boston, MA. He graduated as the top ranked student from the New York Medical College in 1994, and performed an internship and residency in internal medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital. Following, he did a fellowship in cardiology and cardiac ultrasound at the Massachusetts General Hospital, where he has been on staff since 2000. Dr. Januzzi is an active clinician, specializing in care of patients with heart failure. Additionally, he has an active clinical research program focused on optimal diagnosis, evaluation and treatment of patients with heart failure with a specific focus on cardiac biomarker testing. He has published more than 450 manuscripts, has edited 3 text books, and was a writing member of the ACC/ AHA heart failure guideline committee. He is an associate editor of JACC: Heart Failure, and an active member of the Heart Failure Society of America.
