Ms. Cynthia Chauhan is a retired clinical social worker and survivor of two cancers who volunteers as a patient advocate to give back in gratitude for all that has been given to her. Her interest is in bringing the patient voice and perspective to the research table and addressing the value of research in the community.

Cynthia Chauhan’s has enjoyed an extensive career in clinical social work. Upon starting her career in social work, she realized she had found her niche because this kind of work proved to be unique. It enables her intimate contact with patients and satisfies her desire to assist and support them through challenging life experiences. “No two patient cases are exactly alike and no two days at work were the same.” Her career included working in private practice, Hospice, Inc., The Wichita/Sedgwick County Department of Health, as well as Booth Memorial Residence in Wichita, KS, private practice in Albuquerque, NM, The Parenting Guidance Center, Edna Gladney Home in Fort Worth, TX, and Chartres Mental Health Treatment Center in New Orleans.
